Why You Won’t See Google Ads on My Blog
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
As you probably noticed, lots of blogs have Google ads sprinkled either in their copy or their sidebars. They get money when people click on the links, even if people never buy.
With a topic like mine–writing and publishing–the ad revenue can become significant.
Some people even create content on their blogs to maximize revenue in this way.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, per se. However, I’ve chosen NOT to accept any ads on this blog.
The reason is simple. I want to be your most trusted advisor when it comes to matters of publishing.
There are so many scams out there. While I believe I can block, to some extent, the ads that would appear, there’s no way I want to take the time to screen all the potential ads.
I can’t have ads for companies that are ripoffs showing up on my blog.
Hence, this space remains ad-free.
However, that doesn’t mean I don’t promote other people or products. As you can see, I do. If there is a product or service, training program or person out there who can help you publish and prosper, I think I owe it to you to let you know about them and what they can do for you.
Know that I only promote people or products that I wholeheartedly believe in. Either the product has benefited me greatly, and/or I know the person or company and believe they operate with high integrity.
Those who do “make the grade,” I endorse with vigor. Those who don’t, I usually won’t say anything about (except privately, when pressed, and I will admit if I know nothing).
I can’t tell you strongly enough how passionate I feel about protecting my readers from anyone who wants to exploit their tender dream of wanting to write and publish a book. The sharks are out there. I have seen so many people get eaten alive.
If I can help it, it won’t happen to you. At least, not from this blog, my newsletter, my web site, my articles, my teleseminars. Know that I want your dream to live, and your pocketbook kept safe.
I welcome your comments.
