One of the Fastest Ways to Become “Well Heard and Well Paid”

By Diane

It was what Alex Mandossian calls a “pack-your-bags” moment–a moment when you have such an “aha!” that you could pack your bags right then and feel you’d gotten your money’s worth from the event.

And the event hadn’t even started!

The moment was over dinner, when Jay Aaron (brilliant guy, very nice too) was talking about Oprah Winfrey.

“There are two ways to be an expert,” Jay said.

“One is to be a guest on Oprah’s show.

“The other is to BE Oprah.”

He paused. Watch out, here comes the $64,000 insight.

“Who has the more influence? Who makes the more money–Oprah, or the guest?”

Every author I know wants to be on Oprah. But what if you can BE an Oprah, at least to a certain audience? Doesn’t Oprah make more money than any of her guests?

Jay’s insight is changing the way I’m going about my business. (Thank you Jay Aaron!) Have you noticed that more of my Publishing Coach Weekly teleseminars are not just me talking, but me interviewing other experts?

I love interviewing, and I love writing. I’m building my business around those two skills.

If you want to be “well heard and well paid,” consider becoming an expert by being the connecting point between your audience and other experts who possess knowledge your audience wants. You
can almost automatically expand your “sphere of influence” by interviewing other authors and thought leaders.

The best person I know to train you how to do that is Alex Mandossian.

With Alex’s Virtual Book Tour training under my belt, publishers have hired me to interview New York Times best-selling authors such as Dinesh D’Souza and George Barna, as well as lesser-known authors they wanted to launch.

Alex is offering his Virtual Book Tour training again.

I highly encourage you to sign up for the Preview Call this Thursday. (If you can’t make it, you will have access to the replay shortly after.)

Diane,

Wow! I’m go glad and grateful that I was able to provide you with an “aha” moment.

And indeed, not only are there two ways to act if you’re an expert (as the “authority” and/or as the “interviewer”), it’s also possible to be of great service (and, consequently, to make an excellent income) by learning and applying the skills of interviewing even WITHOUT need of being an expert in a particular field.

The door is wide open for people who are interested in any topic to make their mark by offering to interview the “experts” and help connect them to their audience members. Experts want, need and appreciate new ways to connect and to create greater exposure for themselves, and audiences want, need and appreciate live AND recorded access to their favorite authors, experts and celebrities.

So if you’re an author – or aspiring author – then it’s wise to consider learning how you, personally, can use a ‘Virtual Book Tour” to your own advantage, and also learn how to use that very same strategy/tool to help other authors and experts. Either way, you can’t lose!

And if you’re NOT an author, but you’re interested in helping authors (and other “experts” succeed (and goodness knows they need your help!), then knowing how to put on Virtual Book Tours is a great skill to have and profit from.

Once again, thanks for the compliment, Diane! It’s good to be connected!
