“Don’t Get Hacked Again!” [free teleseminar replay]

By Diane

I don’t know about you, but I realized I have this underlying low-grade anxiety over online activities.

Perhaps it started when my blog was actually hacked into (twice).

Imagine a client and friend sending an email saying, “I clicked the link in your email and got a big red message that the site had a virus.”

It happened to me. Twice.

Scary, frustrating, time-consuming and costly.

I still haven’t done all the cleanup on that.

Now I know this scenario was preventable.

That’s why I did the teleseminar with Cathy Perkins today.

I’m taking steps to make sure it won’t happen again, and I wanted to share what I’m learning with you, so it won’t happen to you.

Listen, if any of us authors want to create a platform, we MUST have a strong online presence.

Preferably with a blog. (I wrote and talked about why on the www.publishingcoachweekly.com site.)

So you need a blog. Yet blogs can get hacked.

So is there a way to gain peace of mind about your site?

Yes. And on today’s teleseminar, Cathy Perkins gave several strategies and tools you can do right away to keep your blog/site secure from hackers (none of which cost anything).

The replay, resource links, Action Guide are available here.

If you do have a blog, or plan to have one …

I strongly urge you to consider taking Cathy’s upcoming class on “WordPress Security Strategies.”

Even if you have a webmaster who takes care of your blog, ask the person if he/she knows how to keep your site secure. If you’re not confident the person knows how, it might be well worth your while to pay the small fee for them to take the class (and you can access it as well).

Cathy will take you step by step, with a printout including screen shots, so that it’s all very easy.

I am taking it myself, because I need that peace of mind of knowing my sites are secure.

She says it will only take up to 2 hours initially, and then a small amount of time to maintain it every so often.

That’s a small investment of time and money, compared to what you would spend (time and money) to fix a disaster.

Believe me, I know.

I’m ensuring “I won’t get hacked again!”

How about you?

Start here. Even if you don’t have a WordPress blog, listen to the teleseminar, please. These strategies are important to any kind of site.
